CEOs of Color Project:
A Sequential Mixed Methods Project
Creating Conditions for Leaders of Color to Thrive as Their Authentic Selves
Welcome to the 2024 CCHALES CEOs of Color project. This work seeks to better understand the conditions faced by leaders of color serving as a President/Superintendent within the California Community Colleges. As the number of CEOs of Color continues to grow in the state, we ask for information on the pathways to the presidency, the joys of the position, aspects of the role that fulfill you, the individual approaches you bring to the role as well as the challenging conditions experienced as the leader of a community college. Our project is a two-phased approach first collecting state-wide quantitative data via this survey and then holding qualitative interviews with a subset of respondents.
